The tradition of swim recreation at Hoyt Park has been around for a century – first as the community swimming hole on the banks of the Menomonee River and then as the largest pool of its time built to serve residents of Milwaukee County. After nearly three generations of service, the pool at Hoyt Park was showing its age.
In 2003, Milwaukee County closed the pool citing structural problems that made repair too expensive. In 2006, the Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool, Inc. (FOHPP) formed to bring swimming back to Hoyt Park. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for all members of the community by supporting the development, maintenance and on-going operation of a medium-sized outdoor family pool at Hoyt Park.
With your help a new pool can be built for all of us to enjoy. FOHPP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
