The Progress of
Friends of
In 2007 FOHPP made great strides
towards turning their mission into a reality. In June, they
received a $4 million challenge grant from the TOSA Foundation, which
enables the group to focus 2008 fundraising efforts on raising the
matching funds.
FOHPP has sponsored several
successful events such as the inaugural Hearts for Hoyt event, a
summertime ice cream social, and several “Hoyt Perks”, which provide the
opportunity for individuals and community groups to learn more about the
project.
In addition, the FOHPP conducted
environmental soil testing at the pool site, and has successfully
negotiated and signed a lease with the county for the Hoyt Pool
property. This significant progress is made possible by the
continued support received from the community.
