10. Why are you closed between 4:30 – 6PM?
We are closed during these times for two reasons. First, we need time before evening swimming lessons and open swim to clean the pool. Second, the city of Wauwatosa expressed concern with the traffic congestion on the corner of Swan Blvd and the Menomonee River Pkwy during rush hour and we wanted to help alleviate that congestion.

17. Who operates the TOSA POOL at Hoyt Park?
The TOSA POOL at Hoyt Park is operated by the Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool, Inc., a non-profit organization that formed in 2006 to bring the tradition of swimming back to Hoyt Park. In 2007, we entered into a 55-year lease with Milwaukee County that allowed FOHPP to design and build the new pool and which gives us authority to operate the TOSA POOL. FOHPP is governed by an independent Board of Directors made up of active community volunteers.
FOHPP does not receive any taxpayer support for the operations of the TOSA POOL.

18. What happens if there is an operating loss?
Our lease with Milwaukee County requires us to be financially self-sufficient so that we do not become a burden to taxpayers. We have established, and fully-funded, a $1 million endowment to cover any potential losses.
