The Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool is hosting the second-annual TOSA Youth Tri for children ages 9-15 on Saturday, Aug. 26, at TOSA Pool at Hoyt Park. Triathlon participants will swim at TOSA Pool, bike the Menomonee River Parkway and run the Oak Leaf Trail and surrounding Hoyt Park.

Ages

Children ages 9 to 15 (as determined by their age as of Dec. 31, 2017, per USA Triathlon rules)

Distance

Children can choose between two distances, depending on their abilities.

  FUN CHALLENGE
Swim 100 yards 200 yards
Bike 2 miles 4 miles
Run 0.62 mile 1.25 miles


Swimming:
    TOSA Pool at Hoyt Park’s outdoor 25-yard pool 

Biking:            Menomonee River Parkway, which will be closed to traffic 

Running:        Oak Leaf Trail and surrounding Hoyt Park lot. The course is subject to change at the discretion of the race director due to weather.

Map Route 

Packet Pickup and Bike / Helmet Drop-off

Packet Pickup and Bike (with helmet) Drop-off is Friday, Aug. 25, from noon to 8 p.m. in the Grand Hall at TOSA Pool at Hoyt Park, 1800 N Swan Blvd. Athletes cannot pick up packets for others.

Schedule of Events

The fun begins Saturday morning, Aug. 26, 2017, at TOSA Pool at Hoyt Park. Detailed schedule and information will be emailed to participants closer to race date.

Wave Information

Enter the pool area through the west gate, closest to the parking lot. Please arrive 5 minutes before your warm up. Coach Corey will give you a quick course talk and you’ll have a few minutes to warm up in the pool. Your race will start about 15 minutes after your warmup.

Rules

  • Every child must have a parent or guardian over the age of 21 at the event.
  • Bike helmets are required during the biking portion.
  • Race will be held rain or shine, but thunder, lightning or heavy rain could cancel the event.
  • There are no refunds.
  • The TOSA Youth Tri is USA Triathlon sanctioned. All USA Triathlon rules apply.

Become a sponsor of the TOSA Youth Tri!  We accept donations of all sizes, but all donors of $250 or more will have their logo on this website and on banners on race day. All donors of $500 or more will have their logo printed on the back of our competitor t-shirt.  Donations must be received by Friday, August 4  to be included on apparel.
