Our goal is quite simple...

community of a pool at Hoyt Park

The Bottom Line

The development of a new Hoyt Park outdoor, medium-sized family pool will benefit both residents of Milwaukee County, as well as Wauwatosa. A new pool at Hoyt Park will provide:

The development of a new Hoyt Park outdoor medium-sized family pool is a win-win proposition for everyone in Milwaukee County and Wauwatosa

Most importantly, a new pool will provide a safe and secure summer recreational venue for our children and youth: It’s the way summer should be!

What are the issues?

As the result of severe budgetary restrictions for the Milwaukee County parks system, the pool at Hoyt Park has been closed for five seasons. The pool required repairs that the county budget could not allow. A grassroots organization, FOHPP, assumed the task of raising money privately to build and operate the new medium-sized pool that would meet the needs of the community.  FOHPP is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization.

Benefits of a New Pool for Residents

A new outdoor medium-sized family pool significantly improves the summer quality of life, makes memories, and serves as a focal point for family recreation in the community.

Bringing back Hoyt’s pool tradition would also reinstate Hoyt’s historical, significant contribution to the unique ribbon of parks that runs along the Menomonee River through the heart of Wauwatosa. This would create a contiguous “central park” corridor (Jacobus, Hart, Hoyt, Hansen, the developing Hartung Quarry Park) serving a distinct community purpose.
